The Pier at Garden City is consistently voted “Best Fishing Pier” and is known for its karaoke and free-spirited live entertainment. This is known as the party pier! The pier is also family-oriented with fun and games for all ages. It’s the happening place to any time of the year to enjoy the ocean breeze while fishing or just relaxing along the Atlantic. Located 8 miles south of Myrtle Beach, in the heart of Garden City Beach, on the south end of the Myrtle Beach area, this quiet area is mostly resort hotels adjacent to older residential neighborhoods. The Pier at Garden City is 668 ft. long with a rain shelter at the end of the pier. The pier was originally part of the Kingfisher Inn resort next door built in 1973. There is no charge to walk on the pier to enjoy the view and check out the daily catches of those fishing on the pier. For a great afternoon of fun, stop by the Pier Arcade for games and thrills. Win tickets playing Skee Ball, Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal, and many other games. The tickets can be redeemed for prizes! The Deck Bar or Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to midnight seven days a week during the summer. The hours vary in the spring and fall. The Pier Cafe closes for the winter after Thanksgiving and usually reopens before Easter. Lunch and dinner items feature hot dogs, hamburgers, and fries. Hand-dipped ice cream is also available in the cafe. Enjoy live music of a wide range of popular styles on Friday nights. On Saturday and Sunday karaoke hits the stage at 2 pm – weather permitting. The Garden City Pier is located near many great seafood restaurants, as well as the popular MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet.
